Marco Merendi was born in Faenza on 2 May 1968.
In the year 1996 he obtains a degree in Architecture at the University of Florence, with a thesis on industrial design together with the team Minardi Formula 1.
Immediately after he leaves for Amsterdam where he collaborates with the studio LITE: daglicht/kunstlicht adviezen. He was in charge of the realisation of lighting objects and lighting projects of large spaces.
Before leaving for Milan, he projects the inner parts of the trucks of the Minardi Formula 1 and of the team Honda Gresini, thus exploiting his passion for the motor world and in order to know and experiment new materials and technologies.
He was a consultantoto Artemide, designing and developing new products. He has collaborated with the studio Cerri Associati and with the studio of Ivana Porfiri in the realisation of yachts, art galleries and private houses.
He lives and work in Milan where his researches and interests range from architecture, design on communication.
The key words of his work are: passion, experimentation and magic.
Actually he collaborates with Lavazza, Gruppo Pentole Agnelli, FontanaArte, Viabizzuno (price ‘Design Plus’ 2002, lamp bamboo, with L. Cicognani), davide groppi, Buzzi & Buzzi, Segno, R+Light, RossettiLight, Aluproject, Dovetusai, MDFItalia, Rapsel e Nito.
Marco Merendi is teaching at the Scuola Politecnica di Design (SPD) of Milan.
